Marana is doubling its water reclamation facility’s capacity to keep up with the town’s rapid growth.
The Town of Marana is working to expand its water reclamation facility in an effort to make sure its water system can keep up with the growing community.
The Marana Water Reclamation Facility currently treats about 1.5 million gallons of wastewater each day.
But with more people and new development coming to the area, the town is expanding the facility.
Marana is doubling its water reclamation facility's capacity to keep up with the town's rapid growth.
The expanded facility will treat 3 million gallons of wastewater per day and include more recharge basins to put treated water back into the ground.
The second phase will double its capacity to 3 million gallons a day.
The project also includes more recharge basins, where that treated water can be put back into the ground.
The goal is to give Marana more room to grow while also putting more water back into the ground.
The expansion is expected to be complete in October of 2028.
