From a new Oracle attraction to an established desert adventure
In January 2016, HikeLemmon linked readers to an Oro Valley Voice story about a new zipline opening in Oracle. The original article is no longer available, but the attraction it covered is still operating. Arizona Zipline Adventures has grown from a new arrival into a recognizable stop on the northeastern side of the Catalina Mountains.
The setting is part of the appeal. Oracle sits between the Tucson metro area and the higher country around Mount Lemmon, where the Sonoran and Chihuahuan deserts begin to meet. Visitors trade city streets for open terrain, mountain views, and a noticeably different perspective on Southern Arizona.
What the current tour includes
Arizona Zipline Adventures says its guided EcoTour uses five different ziplines. Professional guides host the experience, and the operator describes it as a way to see the desert from above rather than simply race from one platform to another.
Reservations are required for the EcoTour, and the operator says at least two participants are needed for a tour to run. Larger groups should make arrangements directly instead of assuming a standard booking will accommodate everyone.
Location and operating schedule
The attraction is located at 35406 S. Mount Lemmon Road in Oracle, roughly an hour north of Tucson under normal conditions. Arizona Zipline Adventures currently lists business hours of Thursday through Sunday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Zipline tours operate by reservation.
Peppersauce Kitchen, located on the property, currently lists hours of 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the same days. The site also includes a general store, short hiking opportunities, and other activities, making it possible to spend more than the length of the zipline tour on the property.
Hours, availability, participant restrictions, and prices can change. Confirm everything with the operator before driving to Oracle.
Weather and cancellations
The operator says tours generally run in rain, snow, or shine. Dangerous conditions are different. Lightning, high winds, or extreme rain may delay or cancel a tour. When weather forces a cancellation, the company says it may offer a rain check or refund.
Southern Arizona conditions can shift quickly, especially near mountain terrain. Check the forecast for Oraclenot only Tucsonand leave enough flexibility in the day for a delay.

- Closed, secure footwear appropriate for outdoor platforms and uneven ground.
- Water and sun protection, even during cooler months.
- Clothing that works comfortably with a safety harness.

Make the drive part of the day
Oracle is more than a turnaround point after the last zipline. Visitors can pair the trip with a meal on site, a walk, or another stop in the Oracle and Catalina area. Avoid packing the schedule so tightly that a weather delay or a relaxed lunch becomes a problem.
